Association of CYP1A1*2C Variant (Ile464Val Polymorphism) and Some Hematological Parameters with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) in Erbil-Iraq.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Chronic (CML) are life-threatening hematological neoplasms characterized by an uncontrolled proliferation of myeloid progenitors. The phase I metabolism response, which metabolizes xenobiotics endogenous exogenous DNA-reactive chemical compounds that may cause genotoxicity raise the risk AML CML, is catalyzed cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzyme. current study aimed to identify frequency CYP1A1*2C polymorphism in AML, CML patients. Also, compare some parameters determine role allele variants as a factor for developing leukemia. Blood samples were collected from 100 (50 50 CML) patients 30 controls both sexes at different age groups. Samples analyzed prevalence polymorphism, results showed Ile/Ile (AA)- Wild, Ile/Val (AG)- Hetero, Val/Val (GG)- Homo mutant genotypes not significantly elevated group compared control group. However, statistically significant differences found between patient’s concerning WBC Hb estimation, distribution AA- difference. Despite fact individuals have same probability develop CML. During treatment should be considered with GG genotype who lower Hb, especially increase disease severity.
